How to help dry hands

Not only the cold weather but also frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitising gels are likely to leave the skin on your hands dry, red and even scaly. So let's take a look together at how we can help your dry hands.

It is obvious that we often wash our hands obsessively to get rid of bacteria and viruses in the current situation. However, in addition to effectively ridding your hands of germs and dirt, soap also removes the natural lipid layer that ensures the hydration of your hands' skin.

How to keep your hands moisturised

The best thing you can do is to cream your hands regularly. Make it a routine- as soon as you've scrubbed your hands properly with soap, wiped them dry, use moisturiser.

By creaming your hands regularly, you're not only re-hydrating your skin, but you're helping your skin rebuild its protective barrier and preventing painful cracking of the skin.

At night, we recommend applying a thicker layer of cream so that it can work while you sleep. You can prevent the cream from rubbing into your duvet by using light cotton gloves. That way, the valuable ingredients in the cream also have more time to properly soak into your skin, and you'll wake up in the morning with a very pleasant feeling of soft hands.

Honey wrap for the hands

We also recommend you to do the following honey wrap at least once a week (even every evening). We like to use paste honey because it is nice and creamy and doesn't run all over the place.

Prepare yourself:

2 tablespoons rapseed cream honey

2 tablespoons oat flakes

1 egg yolk

1/2 tablespoons oliv oil

single-use plastic gloves

Process:

  1. In a bowl, whisk the olive oil with the egg yolk to a paste and add the honey with the oat flakes.
  2. Rub the mixture in a thick layer on your washed hands without cream and put on plastic gloves.
  3. Leave on for at least 30min. We recommend you keep the wrap on your hands during all the million parts of the series on Netlfix, which you can watch until you fall into a coma.
  4. Wash the wrap off with warm, soap-free water and apply moisturiser to your hands.
